Mumbai, Sep 20 (NationPress) Actress Deepti Naval has been a significant figure in indie cinema for nearly five decades. Over the years, she has observed the film industry evolving in harmony with societal changes.

As she prepares for her upcoming film 'Tara and Akash: Love Beyond Realms', she shared insights with IANS during the film's promotional activities, discussing the remarkable shifts she has seen in Hindi cinema from her early days to the present.

She remarked, “Today, our films exhibit a remarkable level of visual sophistication. This is one of the aspects I genuinely appreciate. We are now comparable to international cinema regarding technical and visual quality. There is a wealth of talent among everyone involved, from technicians to actors. Nowadays, everyone has undergone formal training. Unlike my experience, where I entered the industry without any formal education, today’s actors are dedicated and well-prepared.”

She also noted, “The new generation is incredibly driven and passionate about their dreams. They are pursuing them wholeheartedly. I find individuals like Jitesh and Alankrita to be truly inspiring. Our director is also a remarkable source of inspiration. The evolution of cinema from my early years to now has been profound.”

Nonetheless, she expressed that not all changes have been positive and pointed out a decline in the quality of content in some films.

“Not everything has improved. There's been a noticeable decline in content quality. Occasionally, significant budgets are spent on projects that lack substance. This is the current reality of cinema. However, overall, it has progressed tremendously,” she added.

In the meantime, after its recognition at Film Bazaar and IFFI Goa 2023, where it received a coveted co-production deal with NFDC, along with its market screening at TIFF 2024, ‘Tara & Akash: Love Beyond Realms’ is scheduled to hit theaters on September 26, 2025.
