Documentary on Yo Yo Honey Singh to Launch on OTT Platforms on December 20

Mumbai, Dec 6 (NationPress) The documentary focusing on Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, titled ‘Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous’, has confirmed its release date on OTT for December 20.

Directed by Mozez Singh, renowned for his work on ‘Human’, this documentary provides an in-depth exploration of the life of the hip-hop artist and rapper. It unveils the real Honey Singh, known as Hirdesh Singh, and narrates his swift rise to fame, discussing both the obstacles he encountered and his triumphant return.

The production of this documentary is credited to Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain under the esteemed banner of Sikhya Entertainment.

In a joint statement, producers Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain expressed, “With ‘Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous’, we delve into his narrative in its most authentic form—from his explosive ascent to his trials and eventual resurgence as Hirdesh Singh. It was enlightening to uncover how little we understood about the genuine individual behind the stage persona.”

They elaborated, “Following the success of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, we take pride in presenting a documentary that encapsulates the resilience, reinvention, and unfiltered reality of this true desi kalakar—a journey we believe will captivate both fans and critics. We are excited to collaborate once more with Director Mozez Singh and Netflix to share this remarkable story with audiences globally.”

For director Mozez Singh, documenting Honey Singh’s journey has been a remarkable experience. He remarked, “He is a captivating individual who has lived numerous lifetimes in just one. I feel honored and privileged to create this documentary alongside the Oscar-winning Sikhya team and to have received complete access to Honey Singh’s world. I am grateful for the trust he placed in me to tell his story. This film covers every aspect—love, pain, family, success, failure, loss, mental health, and the battle to reclaim one’s path.”

“Above all, we discuss the cost of fame. This documentary sheds light on his evolution, his enduring influence on popular culture, and many stories that have never been shared before. We’re excited for you to meet the legend, the man who has ignited a revolution in the Indian rap and hip-hop industry, a truly unique individual,” he added.

The documentary is scheduled to premiere on December 20 on Netflix.
