Los Angeles, April 8 (NationPress) Rap artist Drake reached out to pop icon Justin Bieber through Instagram to suggest a possible collaboration, but the “Baby” star did not reply.
The “Sorry” artist shared an Instagram carousel featuring three vague images and a dark selfie, accompanied by a caption that stated: “Dm me if u wanna make music together.”
While numerous fans of the pop icon eagerly responded, fellow artists also chimed in, including Drake.
The 38-year-old rapper commented: “I DM’d but no reply.”
Despite Drake’s public comment, Bieber did not engage with his comment or with other artists who responded, such as Big Sean, Kehlani, Jaden Smith, and country musician Bailey Zimmerman, as reported by people.com.
The comment quickly gained traction on social media, receiving thousands of interactions and 41,900 likes.
Many fans responded directly to Drake’s comment. One wrote, “we better see a collab soon.”
Meanwhile, other fans took to X, previously known as Twitter. One user commented, “Him and Drake on a song goes triple platinum btw.”
The two Canadian artists collaborated over a decade ago, in June 2012, with the track “Right Here,” featured on Bieber’s third studio album, Believe. The song peaked at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 2012.
Recently, Bieber has frequently hinted at the prospect of new music.
In February, Bieber, who has not released a solo studio album since Justice in 2021, teased new music with a post showcasing collaborators working with guitars, sound boards, laptops, and microphones.
A new studio album for Bieber would mark his seventh since his 2010 debut, My World 2.0. This anticipated new music would be among his first since 2022 and 2023, when he and Don Toliver released their joint singles “Honest” and “Private Landing.”
