Ajay Devgn says the music of the Drishyam franchise has always functioned as more than a backdrop, as the complete soundtrack for Drishyam: The Conclusion dropped on 1 October 2026, ahead of the film's worldwide theatrical release on 2 October 2026.

Devgn on what the music means to the franchise

'The music of Drishyam has always been a character in itself. It brings out the emotions and connects audiences more deeply with the story. It remains an important part of the franchise,' Devgn said. The comment underlines how central the sonic identity of the series has been to its commercial and emotional appeal across three installments.

Sunidhi Chauhan's 'Daastaan: The Drishyam Recap' completes the album

The final addition to the album is 'Daastaan: The Drishyam Recap', sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. The track revisits key moments from Drishyam and Drishyam 2, tracing Vijay Salgaonkar's journey — his fear, choices, consequences and sacrifices — before the concluding chapter unfolds in cinemas.

Chauhan described the experience of recording it as distinctly personal: 'You are not singing about just one moment; you are looking back at everything Vijay and his family have gone through. While recording it, I wanted the voice to feel like it was taking you through those memories rather than simply singing a song. There is a lot of drama in the story, but there is also a very strong emotional core, and I tried to hold on to that while singing it.'

Lyricist Aamil Keeyan Khan — who also co-wrote the film's screenplay — called it one of his favourite Chauhan performances: 'Daastaan: The Drishyam Recap or Daastaan-e-Tabaahi as I like to call it has fire in the words, the composition and the rendition. Ravi Basrur sir gave this song a world to explode in, and Sunidhi ma'am has sung these words like she has a personal score to settle with Vijay Salgaonkar. It's easily one of my favourite Sunidhi Chauhan renditions of all time. Some songs are sung; this one feels unleashed.'

Three composers, three emotional registers

The full soundtrack brings together composers Ravi Basrur, Rochak Kohli, and KARMA, each handling a distinct emotional lane. 'Vingansa', composed by Basrur, written by Khan and sung by Siddharth Basrur, foregrounds the darker, more intense dimensions of Vijay's arc. 'Muskura Do', composed by Kohli and written by Manoj Muntashir, features Lucky Ali in a softer register exploring family and vulnerability. KARMA's 'Game Over' brings a harder, more confrontational energy.

Basrur explained: 'Daastaan: The Drishyam Recap brings Vijay and his family's entire journey together through music. Sunidhi's voice adds the emotion and intensity that the song needed, making it feel like a reflection of everything they have been through.'

Director Abhishek Pathak on the album's design

Director Abhishek Pathak said the deliberate use of multiple composers was a creative choice rooted in the story's emotional range. 'We wanted the album to reflect the film rather than make every song sound the same. Vijay's story has gone through so many emotions over the years; fear, family, hope, pressure, revenge and the music had to reflect that. Each composer brought a different sensibility to the film, which is what makes the album interesting,' he said.

Pathak highlighted 'Daastaan: The Drishyam Recap' as especially significant: 'It looks back at everything that has happened so far and gives the audience a musical recap before they step into the final chapter.'

Cast, crew and release date

Drishyam: The Conclusion stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Kamlesh Sawant. The screenplay is by Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan, and Parveez Shaikh. The film is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, and releases in cinemas worldwide on 2 October 2026.

Point of View

A single musical voice risks either diluting the nostalgia or over-replicating it. Bringing in Ravi Basrur, Rochak Kohli and KARMA effectively segments the album by emotion rather than aesthetic, which mirrors how franchise finales increasingly work in Hindi cinema. Sunidhi Chauhan's recap track is the shrewdest move: it doubles as audience priming ahead of a closing chapter that carries years of built-up expectation. The real test is whether the music — like the franchise itself — can hold its emotional weight now that audiences arrive with specific, hard-to-meet expectations.
