Hyderabad, Dec 7 (NationPress) - In a recent announcement, the esteemed production house Mythri Movie Makers confirmed that all casting calls will exclusively be shared via their official social media handle. They strongly advised the public to avoid interacting with any individuals or agencies purporting to offer casting opportunities for their films.

Using their official X handle, Mythri Movie Makers cautioned fans about fraudulent casting agents, stating, "Every casting call from Mythri Movie Makers will only be announced through our official handle @MythriOfficial. We request everyone not to engage with any individuals or agencies claiming to cast for our films."

The production house further elaborated, "Moreover, we have noticed an Instagram account impersonating Mr. Naveen Yerneni. Please note that this account is a fake. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any misleading profiles."

Mythri is not alone in facing the issue of counterfeit casting agents. Earlier in November, actor Kamal Haasan's production company, Raaj Kamal Films International, issued a statement clarifying that they had not engaged any casting agents for their projects.

They released a graphic declaring, "This is to clarify that Raaj Kamal Films International has not hired any casting agents for any of our films. Please do not trust any e-mails, messages, or social media posts received by you for this purpose. Legal action will be pursued against anyone misusing the name of Raaj Kamal Films International in an unauthorized manner."

Other notable production companies have also contended with this problem. In August, Neelam Productions, helmed by renowned director and producer Pa Ranjith, cautioned actors to remain skeptical of fake casting solicitations.

On their X timeline, Neelam Productions shared a warning stating, "Beware of FAKE AUDITION CALLS in the name of Neelam Productions. Please verify casting calls and audition alerts only from our official social channels. Thank you!"

They also posted a notice reading, "FAKE AUDITION ALERT! Neelam Productions. It has come to our attention that numerous audition calls/posters are being circulated in our name. We want to declare that these AUDITION CALLS ARE FAKE AND NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Any audition/casting-related announcements will be made through our official handles listed below. Announcements from external sources are fraudulent. Thank you! Instagram - @neelam_productions Twitter - @officialneelam"

This issue of fake casting calls has affected various actors and production companies alike. Earlier this year, Tamil actor Sibi Sathyaraj, known for his role as Kattappa in the blockbuster ‘Baahubali’, alerted the public regarding a phony casting call circulated in his name on social media, clarifying that he had no connection to the project or the person behind the call.

The fraudulent casting call poster implied that the film unit, directed by Sakthi Saravanan and starring Sibi Sathyaraj, was seeking actors aged between 25 to 50 years as well as child artists aged 10 to 15 years for auditions to be submitted to a specific contact number.

In February, Sreyas, director of Wunderbar Films, also warned the public about scammers issuing fake casting calls, asserting that any casting solicitation attributed to him or Wunderbar Films was entirely false. He stated, "Hello, This is to inform everyone that any casting calls under my name or Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd are absolutely false and baseless. +91 7598756841 is not my number and is being misused with my picture."

Prior to this, Prince Pictures, another reputable production entity, released a warning to actors about fraudsters claiming to offer roles in their upcoming film, Sardar 2, in exchange for money or favors.
