How Ramadan Transforms Actor Farman Haider's Mindset
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 21 (NationPress) Actor Farman Haider, known for his role as Shivaay in ‘Jagadhatri’, revealed that the sacred month of Ramadan serves as a profound spiritual and mental reset for him.
The actor will be celebrating Eid this Saturday. He shared with IANS that fasting during Ramadan can be physically taxing, especially amid long shooting hours under bright lights, yet it provides him with inner strength.
He stated, “There are times when my energy wanes, but I truly believe that roza grants me both inner strength and mental clarity. Delivering dialogues or performing action sequences while fasting becomes more about focus and intention. When your intention is robust, your body adapts. It’s tough, but it’s also spiritually uplifting. My day begins with Sehri before dawn, which I keep simple with a healthy protein smoothie or sometimes curd with rice and water. Then, I proceed to the set and carry on with my shoot as normal. At Iftaar, if I'm on set, we generally take a brief break. I start breaking my fast with dates and water first, adhering to the Sunnah, followed by light snacks like fruits. Once the shoot permits, I enjoy a full meal.”
He added, “I aim to keep my meals balanced and not overly heavy, so I can work comfortably. Occasionally, I bring home-cooked meals, especially when I wish to stick to a specific diet. Otherwise, the production team is incredibly supportive and organizes food on set. During Ramadan, everyone is quite considerate and ensures comfort. It is a month of discipline, gratitude, and self-reflection. Fasting serves as a reminder to slow down and reconnect with my faith and my inner self. I become more appreciative of even the smallest blessings; even a sip of water feels significant.”
“Spiritually and mentally, it resets me. The atmosphere is consistently warm and respectful. Even those who are not fasting take time to wait or sit together during Iftaar. There’s an incredible sense of unity. For those few moments, work pauses, and humanity takes precedence over deadlines. It’s a deeply emotional and beautiful experience. Sharing Iftaar fosters closer connections among people. There’s a sense of togetherness and peace. Regardless of how hectic the day has been, those few moments feel tranquil and blessed. It truly feels like family,” he concluded.
‘Jagadhatri’ is broadcasted on Zee TV.
