Actress Genelia Deshmukh has marked the re-release of her Telugu romantic action comedy 'Happy', co-starring Allu Arjun, with a nostalgic social media post declaring that 'some things never go out of style.' The film, originally released in the mid-2000s, is returning to cinemas in a 4K format, reigniting fan enthusiasm across platforms.

About the Film 'Happy'

'Happy' is a Telugu romantic action comedy directed by A. Karunakaran. The film features an ensemble cast including Manoj Bajpayee, Deepak Shirke, Brahmanandam, Kishore, and Tanikella Bharani. Its plot centres on an orthodox politician's daughter, on the verge of an arranged marriage to a powerful man, who blames her friend — a pizza delivery boy — for her predicament. The boy then attempts to resolve the situation by posing as her lover, setting off a chain of comic and dramatic events.

Notably, the film was later dubbed and released in Malayalam as 'Happy Be Happy', becoming a blockbuster in Kerala and running for over 175 days — a rare crossover achievement for a Telugu film at the time.

Genelia was most recently seen in Raja Shivaji, directed by her husband Riteish Deshmukh, which depicts the life of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire.
