Gigi Hadid Addresses Disturbing Mention in Epstein Files Alongside Bella
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, April 6 (NationPress) Renowned supermodel Gigi Hadid has addressed the mention of herself and her sister Bella Hadid in the notorious Epstein files.
In a 2015 email correspondence between Jeffrey Epstein and an unidentified recipient, which was made public by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and analyzed by people.com, an anonymous individual inquired how Gigi, 30, and Bella, 29, achieved their modeling careers and substantial earnings.
Epstein's response to the query was simply, "You know," prompting the individual to speculate that their father had financially influenced the agency. Epstein countered, stating, "No," and elaborated, "Because they follow directions, it’s that simple."
After the email surfaced, a social media user expressed on Gigi’s Instagram on March 29 that she felt compelled to "unfollow" the model due to her silence regarding the Epstein files, according to reports from people.com.
Numerous women have alleged sexual abuse by Epstein from 2008 to 2019.
In July 2019, Epstein faced arrest and was charged with one count of sex trafficking of minors and one count of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of minors. Just weeks later, on August 10, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender died by suicide in his prison cell while awaiting trial on severe federal charges.
In a now-deleted response to the Instagram comment, Gigi elaborated on her reasoning for not initially addressing her mention in the Epstein files.
"It’s distressing to read about someone you’ve never met discussing you in such a manner. Especially in this context," she stated, as reported by E! News and InStyle.
"I refrained from commenting because I didn’t want to detract from the narratives of his true victims; however, your comment prompted me to realize it may not be clear—and it’s vital to inform you."
"To be included in those files at the age of 20-21 is disturbing. I want to clearly assert that I have never had any connection with that vile individual."
Gigi acknowledged her privileged upbringing, stating that her parents, Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid, "shielded me and instilled the value of hard work."
She reiterated that since signing with a modeling agency in 2012, she has "strived diligently for every opportunity that has come my way."
