Mumbai, Oct 20 (NationPress) Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee embraced motherhood in 2024, and this year marks her inaugural Diwali celebration as a mother.
In an interview with IANS, Devoleena shared her enthusiastic plans for this festive occasion. She expressed, “I am excited to celebrate both Diwali and Kali Puja with my family this year.” She continued, “I will visit a Kali mandir to seek blessings. Our home will be beautifully decorated and illuminated. May Goddess Lakshmi bless our household and family. I plan to prepare festive sweets.”
Reflecting on her 9-month-old baby boy, Joy, she noted, "Joy adds a special touch to our celebrations, and I am eager to buy him gifts for Diwali. We plan to celebrate a green Diwali." The actress also reminisced about the significance of this festival in her childhood, stating, “Diwali was more than just decorations, sweets, and lighting diyas; we also honored Kali Puja. We would stay awake and pray to Mother Kali until midnight. In the evening, we conducted Laxmi Puja at home, making Diwali a deeply devotional experience for me.”
She further elaborated, “Our celebrations didn’t include card parties; it was all about worship. The second day of Diwali was dedicated to visiting relatives, sharing sweets, and receiving blessings. In the evenings, we enjoyed pandal hopping. The Kali Puja festivities were particularly memorable in Assam. Following Diwali, we celebrate Bhai Dooj, extending our joyous celebrations. I fondly remember enjoying khichuri prasad late on chilly nights after Diwali. When asked about the essence of Diwali, the actress said, “Diwali symbolizes light and devotion. The festival fosters brotherhood, unity, and prosperity amongst us. We all receive blessings from Mother Shakti, making our country a safer place for women. While celebrating, we must remain environmentally responsible and considerate towards street animals, as sharing and caring is the true essence of any festival.”
