Mumbai, Nov 11 (NationPress) Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, renowned for his works like ‘Aligarh’, ‘Shahid’, and ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, is in mourning following the passing of his beloved feline companion.
On Tuesday, the director shared a heartfelt tribute through his Instagram Stories, posting a photo of his cat, Filmy. He expressed how he had once harbored fear towards cats, but Filmy changed his perspective completely.
He captioned the image, “Go well darling Filmy. I was scared of cats. Until she came into our lives. She taught me to love. Gone too soon. Leaving memories of joy and a distraught office behind her. Our little angel Filmy.”
A few months back, Hansal pondered the concepts of freedom and loneliness. In July, he shared a poignant couplet by Charles Bukowski on his Instagram Stories.
The verse read, “And when nobody wakes you up in the morning. And when nobody waits for you at night. And when you can do whatever you want, what do you call it? Freedom or loneliness?”
Previously, the filmmaker reflected on his unhealthy habits during the filming of Kangana Ranaut's ‘Simran’, which led to a heart stent being placed a year later. His Instagram post stated, “Long outdoor shoots don’t have to be stressful. They can be meditative, if you’re not busy running away from yourself. While making ‘Simran’ I spent months doing just that. Escaping pressure with food, drink, anything that numbed. It didn’t help. Less than a year later I had a stent in my heart. Denial it turns out isn’t much of a health plan.”
However, he learned from this experience and now ensures that during outdoor shoots, he stays in accommodations with kitchens to prepare his own meals.
