Mumbai, Nov 14 (NationPress) On this Children’s Day, actress Isha Koppikar shared her innovative perspective on motherhood and contemporary parenting.
In a special conversation with IANS, she discussed nurturing her daughter Rianna through trust, emotional intelligence, and open dialogue. Isha highlighted that her priority lies in fostering confidence and compassion rather than adhering to conventional, stress-inducing parenting methods.
The ‘Kyaa Kool Hai Hum’ star elaborated on her parenting philosophy, which emphasizes balance, trust, and authenticity over societal pressures. “I guide her through trust and open dialogue instead of imposing strict rules. When she encounters difficulties, I motivate her to reflect, solve issues, and comprehend her feelings rather than merely instructing her. I reject parenting based on fear or pressure,” she explained.
Isha Koppikar continued, “Every night, we discuss our day, the mistakes made, the essence of being a good person, and the lessons learned. I allow her to witness my own flaws. I want her to realize that true strength lies not just in having all the answers, but in being sincere, empathetic, and eager to evolve.”
When queried about her aspirations for her daughter's future, the ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ actress expressed, “I hope Rianna grows up feeling both liberated and secure, knowing she is loved for who she is and is capable of achieving her dreams.”
Isha welcomed her daughter, Rianna, in July 2014 with her ex-husband, Timmy Narang. The couple tied the knot on November 29, 2009, after being introduced by their mutual friend, actress Preity Zinta.
She has appeared in a multitude of films across Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, and Tamil languages. Her acting journey commenced with the Tamil movie “Kaadhal Kavithai,” which earned her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
