Mumbai, Oct 21 (NationPress) On the occasion of Shammi Kapoor's 94th birth anniversary this Tuesday, veteran actor Jackie Shroff fondly remembered the star often referred to as the "Elvis Presley of India", expressing that the late icon remains forever in his heart.

Jackie shared a heartfelt video montage on Instagram, showcasing Shammi Kapoor's vibrant moments from his early cinematic career, accompanied by the melodious track Jawaniyan Yeh Mast Mast from the classic 1957 film “Tumsa Nahin Dekha”.

His caption read: “Always in our hearts.”

Shammi Kapoor, celebrated as one of the most remarkable actors in Indian cinema, enjoyed a prolific career that spanned more than five decades and included over 100 films.

The son of the legendary filmmaker and actor Prithviraj Kapoor, he made his film debut in the 1953 film Jeewan Jyoti, which did not fare well at the box office. His breakthrough came four years later with Tumsa Nahi Dekha.

Shammi went on to star in several iconic films, including Dil Deke Dekho, Junglee, Professor, Dil Tera Diwana, China Town, Rajkumar, Kashmir Ki Kali, Janwar, Teesri Manzil, An Evening In Paris, Brahmachari, Andaz, and Prince.

He also appeared in notable films such as Parvarish, Prem Rog, Vidhaata, Betaab, Hero, Sohni Mahiwal, Wanted, Hukumat, Daata, Tahalka, Chamatkar, and Gardish. His last appearance was in the 2011 film Rockstar, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri.

Shammi Kapoor passed away in 2011 at the age of 79 due to complications from chronic kidney failure.
