Los Angeles, Oct 23 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jeremy Allen White, recognized for his role in the Emmy-winning show ‘The Bear’, disclosed that he felt “fragile” during the production of ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere’.
The 34-year-old portrays the rock icon in this biopic, which explores Bruce Springsteen's personal and professional challenges during the creation of his 1982 album Nebraska, as reported by Female First UK.
White expressed a need for time to process the film's profound narrative while shooting. He recounted to Entertainment Weekly, “(Springsteen) and I spoke a lot, I remember, in preparation, I had a really wonderful afternoon or evening where he took me on the Freehold tour.”
He added, “Once we got to set, I felt very fragile at times.”
According to Female First UK, the actor felt a strong sense of “protectiveness” over Springsteen, given that the scenes depicted real events from his life.
He stated, “In a strange way, protective of (Springsteen) because these are real moments that have happened, these are real rooms. There was something delicate about that, and I think, once we were on set, I became quite introverted. I needed a little bit of separation to understand it better.”
Joining White in the film is Jeremy Strong, who plays Springsteen's manager Jon Landau. Strong mainly developed his character in solitude, although he had opportunities to meet with the real-life counterpart.
Strong commented, “The information you want to get is sort of around. We become like obsessive detectives looking for these clues. Stephen Graham (who plays Springsteen's father Douglas) used the term 'magpie,' which is fitting. We’re collecting insights, but mainly it’s a lot of your own work.”
Jeremy Strong expressed his satisfaction in having Landau on set as he grew comfortable with his portrayal.
