Mumbai, July 20 (NationPress) - In a time marked by overconsumption, when audiences frequently struggle to connect with characters, actor Jitendra Kumar has successfully portrayed not just one but two memorable roles: Sachiv ji from "Panchayat" and Jeetu Bhaiya from "Kota Factory".
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Jitendra discussed which character resonates more with viewers.
When asked, "You have portrayed two characters that have significantly impacted the audience—Sachiv ji from Panchayat and Jeetu Bhaiya from Kota Factory. When you are out and about, which character do people call you by more frequently?"
Jitendra responded, "I feel Jeetu Bhaiya is slightly more favored, but people often blend the two identities together."
He elaborated, "If someone approaches me, they typically call me Jeetu Bhaiya, but then they might ask, "Will Jeetu Bhaiya be able to move on from Rinki or not?" They end up merging both identities. I believe they are still under the influence of both shows, but Jeetu Bhaiya is the name that rolls off their tongue more easily than Sachiv ji."
When inquired about his preference between the two characters, Jitendra admitted, "Choosing is quite challenging as both roles are distinct from each other. However, given that Panchayat season 4 has just debuted, it is currently my favorite."
Set in rural India, "Panchayat" follows the journey of Abhishek (played by Jitendra Kumar), who serves as the Secretary of the Gram Panchayat in Phulera village.
Discontent with village life, Abhishek begins preparing for competitive exams while residing in the Panchayat office. During his time there, he forges friendships with Pradhan-Pati (played by Raghubir Yadav), the village Pradhan (portrayed by Neena Gupta), Prahlad cha (played by Faisal Malik), and Vikas, the office assistant of the Gram Panchayat (played by Chandan Roy).
In contrast, Jitendra also plays an inspiring NEET teacher, Jeetu Bhaiya, in "Kota Factory".
