Actress Joey King has lavished praise on her Practical Magic 2 co-star Sandra Bullock, calling her 'one of the nicest people' she has ever encountered and crediting the Hollywood veteran for bringing a warm, family-like atmosphere to the set of the highly anticipated sequel.

King's Words on Sandy and Nicole

Speaking about the experience of working alongside both Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, King said: 'It was amazing to share this time and the screen with Sandy and Nicole. Getting to work with Nicole again while she reprised a character that means so much to me, was so, so cool. It was a privilege to see how they work. Sandy's one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life.'

King went on to describe Bullock as 'so funny, and also so protective, like you are with your family,' adding that the bond between the cast felt genuinely familial. 'I feel like I'm related to her. It's just been great, because there's this real true familial feeling between all of us. Like a family, we teased each other so much, and it's just been really, really fun,' she said.

Watching Sally and Gillian Come Alive

For King, witnessing Bullock and Kidman reprise their iconic roles as Sally and Gillian Owens — the beloved sisters from the original 1998 film — was an almost surreal experience. 'Getting to see them be Sally and Gillian right in front of my face was like absolutely insane,' she said. 'I was watching one of my favorite movies play out right in front of me. And I just can't believe my luck that I got to do that.'

King noted that despite their seamless on-screen chemistry, the two leads are 'so different as people in real life,' making it all the more impressive to watch what each brought individually to their respective characters.

An Unexpected Bond with Maisie Williams

Beyond her admiration for the franchise's original stars, King also opened up about the instant connection she forged with co-star Maisie Williams, who plays her on-screen sister Antonia in the sequel. King plays Kylie.

'I've had the pleasure of working with Maisie Williams on this movie, and she and I have become so, so close. I'm like, "Wait, how have we not known each other forever?"' King said, noting it was their first time working together. She drew a direct parallel to her relationships with her real-life sisters: 'The way that I am with my real-life sisters, we're best friends. We never shut up and have so much to talk about, and that's kind of how Maisie and I are.'

Practical Magic 2 reunites Bullock and Kidman more than two decades after the original, with King and Williams joining as the next generation of the Owens family.
