Mumbai, April 19 (NationPress) The creators of “Raid 2” unveiled their latest track, “Tumhe Dillagi,” a reimagining of the legendary classic by the iconic Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Singer Jubin Nautiyal expressed that recreating a song he has “cherished was both an honor and a challenge.”
“Tumhe Dillagi has always been one of those ageless songs that resonated with me,” Jubin shared. “As a child, then as a young man, and now as an adult, I still revel in the enchanting magic of Nusrat Saab.”
The newly arranged version is crafted by composer Rochak Kohli and brought to life through Nautiyal’s enchanting vocals. The lyrics are penned by Manoj Muntashir and Purnam Allahabadi.
Nautiyal mentioned, “This version carries a profound sense of longing that I endeavored to convey in every note. It reflects the unspoken emotions between two individuals.” He emphasized that recreating a song he has always admired was both a privilege and a challenge, as he aimed to retain its essence while infusing it with his unique voice.
Set amidst a lively festive backdrop, the song highlights the deepening relationship between Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor.
“Reinterpreting a classic like Tumhe Dillagi comes with a significant responsibility,” Rochak Kohli noted.
Kohli added: “The original carries immense emotional significance, and my goal was to respect that while providing a texture that aligns with the 80s/90s aesthetic of Raid 2. It’s about merging nostalgia with a narrative context that feels rejuvenating yet profoundly emotional.”
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 also features Riteish Deshmukh, Supriya Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, and Amit Sial.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, in association with Panorama Studios.
“Raid 2” is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 1.
