Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) The renowned Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan had an eventful day showcasing their sons' ventures. As the new generation of Khans prepares to face the critical eye of the audience, their proud fathers, Aryan Khan and Junaid Khan, ensured that their children are well-equipped to step into the spotlight.
During the Next on Netflix event, which unveiled the streaming service’s lineup for 2025, SRK promoted Aryan’s directorial venture, ‘Ba***ds of Bollywood’. Conversely, Aamir held a special screening for Junaid’s forthcoming film ‘Loveyapa’.
At the event, SRK made a strong impression with his clever remarks and engaging stage presence, while Aamir hosted the evening alongside cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, actress Kajol, actor Vedang Raina, his daughter Ira Khan, and son-in-law Nupur Shikhare, as well as Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
For the occasion, Alia opted for a stylish appearance with a white cropped shirt and high-waisted black trousers, accompanied by a sleek bun. Ranbir complemented her look in a chic black kurta set. In contrast, Aamir embraced a casual style in a grey kurta and black dhoti pants.
On the other hand, ‘Loveyapa’ is helmed by Advait Chandan of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ fame, marking the theatrical debuts of Junaid and Khushi Kapoor after their digital releases, ‘Maharaj’ and ‘The Archies’. The film also features Ashutosh Rana, Kiku Sharda, and Grusha Kapoor in significant roles.
Junaid’s debut film ‘Maharaj’ is inspired by journalist and social reformer Karsandas Mulji. Portrayed by Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid, Mulji was educated at Elphinstone College in Mumbai and was a disciple of the scholar-leader Dadabhai Naoroji. He was associated with the Gujarati Gnanprasarak Mandalli and was friends with notable Gujarati reformists like poet Narmad and educationist Mahipatram Neelkanth.
Mulji advocated for widow remarriage, female education, reduced extravagance in marriages, and protested against social injustices. His efforts led to the abolition of various harmful practices. He penned several influential articles, including the notable piece titled ‘Hinduo No Asli Dharam Ane Atyar Na Pakhandi Mato’ which criticized Hindu religious leaders, resulting in the significant Maharaj Libel Case of 1862, which inspired the Netflix film.
In addition, Junaid Khan is also set to star in another film alongside Sai Pallavi.
