The Camera Blunder That Nearly Derailed the Climax

During their conversation, Johar and Khan recalled a production nightmare: the camera operator accidentally filmed the entire climax sequence in slow motion, rendering the footage unusable. A complete reshoot was unavoidable. Salman, demonstrating remarkable goodwill, agreed to push back his next project by a day to stay on set and redo the sequence — an act Johar reportedly remembers with deep gratitude.

How Salman Khan Came on Board

Johar also revealed that Khan was not the first choice for the supporting role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai — several leading actors had declined before the filmmaker approached him. Khan's response was characteristically breezy. “You've been shopping, come narrate the film to me tomorrow,” Khan reportedly told Johar. The next day, dressed in what Johar described as striking yellow shorts, Khan agreed to sign the film before the narration was even complete — despite being told there would be no remuneration for the special appearance.
