Mumbai, June 13 (NationPress) Actress Mandeep Kaur expressed her genuine excitement about portraying a Rajasthani bride in the series “Vasudha”, marking her first experience with this traditional look.
In a recent episode, her character Megha embraced a majestic Rajasthani bridal persona. This segment, woven around an advertisement shoot within the plot, infused a lively cultural essence into the narrative.
“This was my inaugural experience dressing as a Rajasthani bride, and I was truly thrilled. I collaborated with the creative team to grasp their vision for Megha's appearance and contributed several of my own ideas,” she shared.
Donning a rich maroon lehenga adorned with detailed golden embroidery, paired with a heavily embellished choli and a classic Rajasthani dupatta, Mandeep’s look was complemented by traditional kundan jewellery, featuring a nath, choker, layered haar, borla maang tikka, bangles, and a kamarbandh.
“I believed that the kamarbandh and the traditional dupatta draping would amplify the authenticity of my character. When I finally caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, it felt surreal. Despite the layers and weight of the outfit, embodying my character tied everything together beautifully. It was a refreshing shift from my usual appearance, and I adored the regal and grounded vibe it exuded,” she added.
As the series progresses, tensions escalate with Vasudha left heartbroken over Megha and Devansh's unexpected decision to marry.
Headlined by Priya Thakur, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, at 23, she has previously appeared in projects such as “Sanjha Sufna,” “Mohre,” and “Prachand Ashoka.”
Joining the cast are Nausheen Ali Sardar and Abhishek Sharma, with the show airing on Zee TV.
Nausheen gained notable acclaim for her role in Kkusum, which narrates the story of a young, industrious middle-class girl, Kkusum, and later follows her daughter Kkumud after a 20-year leap.
Abhishek is recognized for his performances in Nimki Mukhiya, Imlie, and Nimki Vidhayak.
