Mumbai, June 14 (NationPress) ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’ finalist Manisha Rani has officially stepped into the acting realm with her debut in the newly launched streaming film ‘Haale Dil’.
Manisha has embarked on a journey into scripted narratives. She shared her thoughts on why she hesitated to embrace the label of an actor for so long.
She stated, “People often questioned why I didn’t refer to myself as an actor. Honestly, I felt I hadn’t earned that title yet. Now that I’ve portrayed a significant role in a comprehensive acting project, I can proudly call myself an actor and update my bio. This is incredibly meaningful for me.”
In ‘Haale Dil’, Manisha embodies the character of Indu, a gentle and naive woman whose narrative resonates with many women in Indian households. Reflecting on her character, she remarked, “Indu is affectionate, lively, and vibrant, much like myself. However, her story also encompasses themes of heartbreak and emotional development. Mothers and aunts will relate to her innocence. Yet, in today’s world, being that innocent can be perilous; one must also be astute.”
Interestingly, Indu’s character draws inspiration from her mother.
She expressed, “Her innocence and the way she communicates, particularly that distinctive Gorakhpur-style dialect, laid the groundwork for Indu.”
Despite her cheerful demeanor, Manisha found it challenging to film romantic scenes. “Every time we attempted a scene, I would burst into laughter uncontrollably! It was difficult to maintain composure. My director had to sit me down and elucidate the emotions required for the scene,” she added.
One of the pivotal messages of the show addresses how women often lose their identity after marriage.
She noted, “The trailer portrays that reality; a woman not only leaves her home and family but also her name. She transforms into Mrs. Sharma, Mrs. Gupta, or in my situation, Mrs. Vivek.”
Manisha commended the show’s producers Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta, stating, “I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Ravie sir and Sargun ma’am. Every time I arrived on set, it felt less like work and more like a warm and joyous environment. We had so much fun, filled with masti and affection.”
