Has Minissha Lamba Found Peace in Her Five-Year Vegetarian Journey?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 2 (NationPress) The talented actress Minissha Lamba, known for her roles in films like “Corporate”, “Bachna Ae Haseeno”, and “Bheja Fry 2”, is celebrating five years of her vegetarian journey, a choice she describes as life-altering in numerous aspects.
On Instagram, she posted a captivating image of herself in a chic black top and a matching skirt, reflecting on her journey which began not as a lifelong vow, but as a month-long commitment influenced by her conscience.
In her caption, Minissha expressed: “Today marks 5 years since I transitioned to vegetarianism. It’s hard to believe I’ve come this far. Initially, it was just a month, which felt like a long time to give up something I enjoyed. However, I had been uncomfortable with eating meat for years leading up to this decision.”
She revealed a struggle with guilt over consuming meat, even when vegetarian options were available. “I felt constant guilt over eating animals when there were vegetarian alternatives. I didn’t want to exist in this confusing space of eating while feeling guilty. The guilt had to be addressed, and rationalizing my meat consumption was no longer effective,” she stated.
“At that moment, I didn’t intend for it to be a permanent change. Forever felt too daunting and a lasting commitment for something I wasn’t sure how I would feel about later. It was merely a voice inside me that had been growing for years. So finally, I took action.”
Starting with a month, Minissha gradually expanded her commitment.
She added, “A month flew by, and I thought, why not extend this to 6 weeks? Six weeks turned into 2 months. Setting smaller, achievable goals helped boost my confidence. Two months became three, which was a milestone to feel proud about. Four months transitioned to five, and just like that, half a year was approaching! Once I reached that, I realized I could potentially sustain this for life. I hope to remain strong and committed.”
Describing the experience as profoundly rewarding, Minissha noted that vegetarianism has gifted her a sense of peace and harmony with her inner self.
“Life has truly been wonderful as a vegetarian. It has brought me peace. I wish I hadn’t spent years ignoring the voice in my heart,” shared the actress.
As she welcomed New Year 2026, Minissha encouraged others to pursue their personal goals with patience rather than pressure.
She concluded: “Happy New Year 2026 everyone! If you have personal goals, consider my approach. Don’t think ‘forever.’ Allow yourself time. Gradually explore the unknown and see how it resonates with you. From 02-01-2021 to hopefully Forever #vegetarian #happynewyear.”
