Mumbai, Sep 13 (NationPress) Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh shared the reason behind his strong confidence after his roka ceremony with wife Rukmini Sahay. During his appearance on the podcast hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Neil revealed that his spouse hails from a lineage of educators.
He expressed, "When the roka took place, I felt overjoyed and assured that I would no longer have to finance schooling." However, Neil's assumption was proven incorrect as his daughter, Nurvi Neil Mukesh, only attended her maternal grandparents' playschool for a year.
When his wife opted to withdraw their daughter after just one year, a puzzled Neil questioned her decision, asking why she couldn’t study at the school owned by her grandparents.
Recalling his experiences while filming the 2012 movie “Players” in Russia, Neil mentioned the challenges he faced entering the hotel due to the overwhelming fan presence for his grandfather, Mukesh, and father, Nitin Mukesh.
He further discussed his prior expectations regarding the advantages of his complexion, stating, “I believed there would be numerous perks to being fair-skinned. People used to comment that I looked affluent, which would lead to better roles. But that perception has shifted. Nowadays, even those who don’t seem impoverished are being cast as kings,” he said.
Neil also recounted his attempt to portray a character from a chawl in his 2010 film, “Lafangey Parindey”. “While it was a romantic narrative, I aimed to incorporate that aspect seamlessly. Yet, my critic friends at the time ridiculed my appearance. However, what can I do? It’s my destiny. Look, Indians—yes. In heart, body, and mind—all types—yes. If God has made me fair, what’s my concern? It’s His credit,” he shared.
