New Delhi, Nov 28 (NationPress) Nearly a decade has passed since Priyanka Chopra Jonas made her mark in Hollywood, and the acclaimed actress, one of India's most prominent global icons, has opened up about the unpredictability and continuous transformation that have defined her transcontinental journey.
Priyanka emphasized that there was no set guide, only a process of trial, error, and a readiness to adapt as she progressed.
When asked how she managed to maintain her identity while consistently evolving for an international audience, Priyanka, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, remarked: “I don't know if I did.”
“I think, you know, I don't claim to have all the answers. I am learning on my own. There are very few precedents, people who have ventured into international spheres from India, whose paths I have followed,” she added.
With a scarcity of Indian role models in the global entertainment landscape, she noted that her development stemmed largely from trial and error.
“It was a series of trials and errors, and yes, I made mistakes—some were beneficial, others not so much. That’s part of starting anew, and I believe that’s perfectly fine,” she said.
She further noted, “You must learn to forgive yourself for your missteps, brush yourself off, and continue moving forward. It’s not always easy; there are times when I succeed in this, and times when I struggle, and that’s also acceptable.”
Priyanka attributes her sense of stability to her close-knit support system. It’s not about the number of people, she explained, but about being around those who truly care for and uplift her.
“What keeps me grounded is being surrounded by loved ones. It doesn’t have to be a large group, but rather those who genuinely support you. This provides a sense of grounding and confidence, enabling you to evolve and explore new avenues,” shared the actress.
Additionally, Priyanka is backing the documentary “Born Hungry” through her production company Purple Pebble Pictures in partnership with filmmaker Barry Avrich’s Melbar Entertainment Group. The documentary chronicles the journey of Sash Simpson, who was abandoned as a child in India, adopted in Canada, and eventually became a celebrated chef. It is set to premiere on JioHotstar.
