Actress Radhika Sarathkumar has revealed that she is yet to watch the Tamil romantic entertainer 'Hi' — not because of a lack of interest, but because the film holds a deeply personal grief. It was the last project on which she worked alongside her close friend and veteran actor-director K Bhagyaraj, who passed away in June 2025. Speaking at a thanksgiving event organised by the film's makers in Chennai, Radhika said she does not yet have the emotional courage to sit through it.

Radhika's Tribute to Bhagyaraj

At the celebration, Radhika recalled the warmth and creative energy Bhagyaraj brought to the sets of 'Hi'. 'I haven't seen the film yet. I don't have the courage to see it,' she said, visibly moved. She revealed that Poornima, the wife of the late actor-director, had called her the previous day after watching the film and had been emotionally overwhelmed by it.

Radhika fondly remembered how Bhagyaraj would address her by the affectionate nickname 'Pulla' on set. 'When a shot was fixed, he'd turn to me and say, "Pulla, in this film, wouldn't it be nice to have a shot like this?"' she recalled. She noted that he would often speak to her in Telugu, offering creative suggestions in his capacity as a seasoned screenplay writer and director. 'As a screenplay writer, director or actor, he will be missed,' she said.

Her Words for the 'Hi' Team

Despite her personal grief, Radhika was generous in her praise for the entire team behind the film. 'These days, it's very tough for a film to succeed. It's a different market. Many people will come, claiming to know a lot many things. They will eventually escape, saying they don't know. But you, knowingly and unknowingly, arrived and have won,' she told the gathering, congratulating the cast and crew on the film's commercial success.

She concluded her speech by urging audiences to watch 'Hi' and confirmed that she too intends to watch it — when she feels ready.

'Hi', directed by Vishnu Edavan in his feature directorial debut, released on 28 August 2025 with a U/A certificate from the Censor Board. The romantic entertainer stars Kavin and Nayanthara in the lead — their first on-screen pairing — which generated significant anticipation ahead of release. The film has since emerged a superhit at the box office.

The supporting cast includes Prabhu, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir, and Kureishi, among others. The film is jointly produced by Zee Studios South, The Rowdy Pictures, and Seven Screen Studios.
