Chennai, Oct 25 (NationPress) The production team behind director Rahul Sadasivan's highly anticipated horror thriller, 'Dies Irae', starring Pranav Mohanlal in the lead role, has unveiled a fresh trailer of the film this Saturday, much to the excitement of fans and cinema enthusiasts.

Pranav shared the link to the newly launched trailer on his X timeline, stating, "#DIESIRAE Release Trailer. IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE FROM OCT 31!"

The film has received clearance from the Censor Board for its release on October 31 with an 'A' rating.

The newly released trailer kicks off with Pranav Mohanlal appearing visibly anxious. As a series of chilling scenes unfold, a voiceover ominously proclaims, "The mighty trumpet's wondrous tone shall rend each tomb's sepulchral stone and summon all before the throne. Both heaven and earth will lie in ashes. Full of tears and full of dread is that day that wakes the dead."

This film has generated significant buzz since its initial announcement, with a prior trailer that had fans eagerly anticipating its release.

In the earlier trailer, an elderly woman warns a man that he should have spoken up when he sensed something was amiss with a child. The man questions how he could share his feelings, pondering, "What will people think?" The elderly woman responds, "And now, didn't that feeling turn out to be true?"

It becomes clear that the child in question is portrayed by Pranav Mohanlal, who plays the sole son of a family rumored to be cursed by their neighbors. He begins to encounter unsettling and supernatural occurrences but struggles to express his fears, knowing that no one will believe him.

Set to premiere this Halloween, 'Dies Irae' is inspired by true events.

Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, 'Dies Irae' has sparked immense interest due to the talented team behind it. This horror-thriller is being crafted by the same group that created the Malayalam cult classic, ‘Brammayugam’, which starred Malayalam superstar Mammootty.

Production for 'Dies Irae' commenced in the last week of March this year, with filming taking place in Vadakara, Calicut. Remarkably, sources indicated that the entire film was planned to be shot within just 40 days, yet the crew completed it by April, ahead of schedule.

Shehnad Jalal, acclaimed for his work in ‘Brammayugam’, serves as the cinematographer for this new film, while art direction is helmed by Jothish Shankar, also from ‘Brammayugam’. Editing is by Shafique Mohammed Ali, who previously edited ‘Brammayugam’.

Director Rahul Sadasivan’s ‘Bramayugam’ was a critically lauded success, characterized as a period horror film set in Kerala's dark ages. The narrative revolved around three male characters and was shot in black and white. Featuring Mammootty, it also starred Sidharth Bharathan, Arjun Ashokan, and Amalda Liz. Dialogues were penned by renowned Malayalam novelist TD Ramakrishnan, famous for his novel Francis Itty Cora.
