Mumbai, May 8 (NationPress) Actress Riddhi Dogra has spoken about her rise to fame in the film industry, noting that one of her most significant achievements is that Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee are now aware of who she is — a true victory for her.

In an open discussion, the actress reflected on her career journey and the pivotal role that brought her into the spotlight — 'Jawan'. She portrayed Kaveri Amma, the mother of Shah Rukh Khan, in this action-packed thriller. When asked how 'Jawan' has influenced her career, Dogra shared with IANS, “My journey has been consistent and filled with lessons. 'Jawan' was certainly a remarkable experience. Many began calling me Kaveri Amma after that film. Every role has contributed to my growth and elevated my career. I am especially thankful for the opportunity to work with Atlee, and I sincerely hope for another collaboration with him in the future. So, yes, after 'Jawan', I feel I have garnered more recognition — mainly because Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee know who I am.”

The 'Maryada' actress also expressed her excitement about portraying Shah Rukh Khan's mother in the film.

“I often joke with my friends — and I hope Shah Rukh takes it lightly — that I’m such a devoted fan, I would do anything to make him appear younger! Even play his mother. Honestly, when I agreed to the role, my thought was — no issue, I’ll be his mother if it means helping him look young and fabulous. He has a fantastic sense of humor, so I hope he finds that amusing,” added Riddhi.

Riddhi Dogra also discussed her upcoming project, 'Kull', and what attracted her to the role. She revealed, “For me, playing this character was a completely fresh experience. She’s someone who is indifferent to others; her focus is solely on herself. Portraying someone like that was incredibly liberating. Although the character is strong and carries her own responsibilities, she is unlike any role I’ve ever played before. Typically, I’ve taken on characters who bear the weight of the world, who feel the pain of others and empathize with those around them.”

The web series 'Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs' premiered on May 2, 2025, on JioHotstar. The cast also includes Nimrat Kaur, Amol Parashar, and Charudutt Sharma.
