Mumbai, May 1 (NationPress) A recently resurfaced video featuring the late actor Rishi Kapoor is making waves online, showcasing his reflections on the moment he penned his very first autograph.
Shared by the Indian broadcaster Prasar Bharati, the nostalgic clip captures Rishi recounting how he came to sign his name for the first time. He reminisced, “My father, Raj Kapoor, wanted a young joker to portray the character of Joker in ‘Mera Naam Joker’. At that time, I was in school, around 16 years old, and in the 9th or 10th grade. One evening, while we were together, my father asked my mother, ‘I wish for Chintu to take on this role. Do you have any objections?’. My mother replied, ‘As long as his studies aren't affected, I have no objections.’”
“I was quietly listening to their conversation. Whenever my parents spoke, I would attentively hear them out. Afterward, I went to my room, found my desk, opened the drawer, and took out a pen and a piece of paper. That’s when I began to practice my autograph,” he further explained.
Rishi Kapoor passed away in 2020 during the initial lockdown in India due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier in February, his wife, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, shared a nostalgic video on her Instagram Stories, featuring Rishi relishing a delicious plate of biryani and expressing his appreciation to the chef who created the dish.
