She directed her criticism squarely at celebrities and prominent personalities who have chosen to stay quiet, suggesting their silence is driven by fear of professional consequences. 'How surprising is it that so many people are still silent? You're trying to save your place. You're thinking that if you speak up, this government will go against you, your work will be stopped, you won't be able to do any work, and you won't be able to make a name for yourself,' she said.

A Direct Appeal to Public Figures

Pahwa did not stop at criticism — she issued a direct challenge. 'Humanity should be awakened. Just because some of your work may stop, or you may miss out on a few awards, you're staying inside your homes. Right now, the country needs every human being,' she said, adding that support from big names across every profession was urgently needed.

She also questioned the long-term cost of silence, asking whether the protesting students — many of whom she said were getting beaten and shedding blood while fighting for their rights — would offer support to those who stayed quiet when they needed it later.

Shabana Azmi Singled Out for Praise

In contrast to those she criticised, Pahwa praised veteran actress Shabana Azmi for physically joining the protests. 'Hats off to Shabana Azmi. I am a big fan of hers. At this age, she has gone there and even got beaten up,' Pahwa said, adding that she herself would have joined had she not been dealing with personal difficulties.

Alongside the video, Pahwa wrote in Hindi: 'Mai in bachcho ke sath hun in pariwaro ke sath Hun es desh ke sath hun' — translating to: 'I am with these students, their families and our country.'
