Mumbai, Dec 23 (NationPress) Actor Sharad Kelkar, who is set to portray a neurosurgeon in the ‘Doctors’, is confident that the series has the potential to inspire some individuals to pursue a career in medicine.
The show ‘Doctors’ will present an in-depth look at the medical profession. Directed by Sahir Raza, the series delves into the lives of doctors, showcasing their professional challenges, personal sacrifices, and the everyday realities they face with remarkable authenticity.
Discussing the show’s distinctive approach, Sharad remarked: “There’s nothing quite like ‘Doctors’ ever made in India; it’s extremely detailed and appears incredibly realistic. There hasn’t been anything like ‘Doctors’ in India until now. With this series, we have strived to get as close to reality as possible, which is precisely what the Indian OTT or entertainment industry needed.
He emphasized that the series is fully devoted to doctors.
“After viewing ‘Doctors’, audiences may alter their viewpoint on the medical profession. While we frequently commend doctors or criticize them, we seldom witness what truly occurs in their lives,” Sharad added.
He also noted the show’s wide appeal, stating: “This series isn’t just aimed at mature audiences; it’s for everyone, especially the younger demographic. It may even inspire some to take up medicine. What distinguishes this show is its authenticity.
Real-life doctors were present on set every single day, assisting us with even the most minor details, whether it involved medical terminology, procedures, or accurately portraying doctors. Their involvement extended beyond the set and into the editing phase as well.”
Sharad expressed that taking on the role of a neurosurgeon with such a captivating storyline was a refreshing experience for him.
“We underwent extensive training with two highly qualified doctors who helped us grasp fundamental medical terms and how to conduct ourselves and present ourselves as doctors. That training proved essential, and we thoroughly enjoyed the process; it was both a fun and rewarding experience to portray doctors in ‘Doctors’.
‘Doctors’ will begin streaming exclusively on JioCinema starting December 27.
