Mumbai, July 19 (NationPress) Actor Shishir Sharma, who is set to appear in Angith Jayaraj and Preetish Jayaraj's culinary drama "Rasa", discussed whether Bollywood is adopting new storytelling techniques from the South film industry.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Shishir expressed that the essence of filmmaking transcends regional boundaries.
He stated, "No matter if you’re from the South, North, or anywhere else, it’s irrelevant. What truly matters is the clarity of vision from filmmakers, like Rituja (the director and writer). She had a clear idea of what she wanted, which made the process seamless. A filmmaker’s origin doesn’t define their ability to create something extraordinary if they possess a clear vision."
During the conversation, he also shared how he became part of the "Rasa" team.
He mentioned, "Reading the script immediately captivated me. I knew I had to be involved in this film, regardless of any scheduling conflicts. The script was simply too compelling, especially for an actor."
Shishir will portray Anant Nair, a legendary yet enigmatic culinary artist in his upcoming role.
Discussing his character, he remarked, "It’s a unique and powerful role, and I embraced the responsibility of leading the film. I wouldn’t label it as a psychological thriller; it’s more of a thriller infused with fantasy elements. It delves into emotions, uniquely expressed through food."
"If you’ve seen the trailer, you’ll notice its fantastical essence. While there are supernatural aspects, they don’t overshadow the narrative. I prefer not to reveal too much—after all, if I disclose the entire plot now, what’s left for the audience to discover?" he concluded.
Featuring Rishi Bissa, Vishishtha Chawla, and Rajiv Kumar in pivotal roles, "Rasa" is set to hit theaters on July 25th.
