Los Angeles, Nov 26 (NationPress) It appears that age has no hold on the iconic singer-songwriter Sir Elton John. He has expressed that he is "singing better than he ever has before".
The music icon continues to perform live despite having stepped back from touring after the finalization of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road concerts in 2023, as reported by Female First UK.
He believes his vocal abilities are in excellent condition, even in light of health challenges, including loss of vision in his right eye.
In an interview with Variety, he mentioned, "By the end of this year, I will have performed 11 private shows, which is unprecedented for me, some as a solo act and others with my band. It has been enjoyable, as I was initially worried I wouldn't be able to see the piano keys or the microphone. Thankfully, everything is close enough for me to see. However, when I play with the band, I can't see them, which can be a bit challenging. I rely on Davey to guide me on when to end a piece and ensure we stay in sync."
The "I'm Still Standing" artist stated, "I can confidently say that I'm singing better than I ever have, and I'm playing exceptionally well. I'm truly enjoying it, which is beneficial for me. Music has always been my life and has taken me on incredible journeys. I look forward to heading into the studio to create new songs and explore new avenues."
According to Female First UK, the 78-year-old artist is collaborating with his long-time lyricist Bernie Taupin on new material and aims to release a more contemporary album following "Who Believes in Angels?", his collaboration with Brandi Carlile that debuted earlier this year.
He elaborated, "The album with Brandi is a timeless piece, but it doesn't fit into a specific time frame. We aimed to create a record filled with great songs that we loved. That was a fantastic project, but I also have a desire to produce a more mainstream album and work on songs with Bernie that resonate more with today’s audience than yesterday's."
