Content creator and reality show participant Sufi Motiwala has labelled actress Shilpa Shinde the 'worst contestant' on Lock Upp Season 2, saying he was never able to forge a genuine connection with her during their shared time on the show. Motiwala shared his candid assessments in an exclusive conversation on 28 July, offering an unfiltered look at the dynamics inside the controversial reality format.

What Sufi Said About Shilpa Shinde

When asked to name the weakest performer among the contestants, Motiwala did not hesitate. “Personally, I would say Shilpa ji because I just feel like she never let anyone connect with her. In the guise of being, ‘I will say whatever I want about everyone,’ and ‘I am like this,’ I was never able to connect with her,” he said.

Motiwala suggested that Shinde’s self-proclaimed bluntness, rather than earning her authenticity points, may have worked against her by keeping fellow contestants at arm’s length. Notably, Shinde is no stranger to reality television controversy, having previously won Bigg Boss 11 — a win that itself generated significant debate at the time.

Sufi Rates Himself the Best Player

Despite anticipating divided opinions, Motiwala expressed full confidence in his own gameplay. “The best player, I would say, is me, even though people might not agree,” he said, acknowledging that the self-assessment might invite pushback from viewers and fellow contestants alike.

Motiwala was evicted from the show on Sunday before sharing these views, making his exit remarks all the more pointed. His stint, though cut short, was marked by a series of deeply personal disclosures that drew widespread attention.

Three Personal Revelations That Made Headlines

Prior to his eviction, Motiwala voluntarily revealed three closely guarded personal secrets on the show — a move that generated considerable viewer reaction.

His first revelation concerned his emotional life during college, where he said he developed romantic feelings for two close male friends who made him feel safe and understood. He shared that both friendships ultimately ended because of those feelings.

The second disclosure was more serious in nature. Motiwala alleged that a former roommate had subjected him to sexual assault, claiming the individual had been watching him while he slept before allegedly forcing himself on him. He said he reported the incident to the PG owner immediately, but alleged that the response he received was inappropriate rather than supportive, compounding his trauma. He added that he had locked himself inside a bathroom for nearly 12 hours following the incident.

His third revelation was an emotional one involving his late grandmother. Motiwala shared that she had called him two days before her passing, a call he missed. He later learnt of her death and said he was not permitted to attend her funeral. He added that she had left him ₹50,000, which he used to purchase his first phone and launch his content creation career.
