Mumbai, April 9 (NationPress) Bollywood star Sunny Deol, set to appear in the forthcoming film ‘Jaat’, paid a visit to the Mateshwari Tanot Rai Mata temple on Wednesday.

The actor offered his prayers at the temple, located in the Jaisalmer district of western Rajasthan. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by Yogendra Singh Rathore, Deputy Inspector General of the Border Security Force. He then performed darshan and puja of Tanot Mata, praying for the success of his upcoming film.

The Tanot Mata Temple is approximately 120 km away from Jaisalmer and is maintained by the BSF. Remarkably, during the 1965 and 1971 wars, the temple was spared from extensive shelling by Pakistan due to the divine intervention of the Goddess. Sunny Deol shares a unique bond with the Tanot Mata Temple, as his film ‘Border’ was the first to depict the Tanot Mata Mandir.

Sunny Deol's visit to the Tanot Mata Mandir was part of the promotional activities for ‘Gadar-2’, released in 2023 to great acclaim. His return to the temple for the success of his new film underscores his profound faith in Tanot Mata. The actor even celebrated with BSF jawans, dancing to patriotic tunes from films like ‘Gadar’ and ‘Border’ in the vicinity of the temple, which is near the Indo-Pak border. Following his visit, he departed after paying heartfelt tributes and well wishes to the Border Security Force.
