Sunny Leone Discusses Adoption and the Emotional Journey After IVF Challenges
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 3 (NationPress) Actress Sunny Leone has bravely shared her journey through the emotional struggles and self-doubt she faced after experiencing multiple unsuccessful IVF attempts. This challenging period made her reflect deeply on her own worth.
During an open-hearted discussion with filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan on her popular YouTube vlog, Sunny recounted her painful experiences, saying, “After our first failed attempt, we had six viable embryos. Out of those, the first four were girls, and suddenly, all four girls disappeared.”
She continued, “It was incredibly devastating. I began to blame myself, questioning, ‘What’s wrong with me? Why is this happening? Is it my karma? Is it this? Is it that? But ultimately, it’s all part of God’s plan.”
Sunny revealed that during this tumultuous time, she considered the option of adopting a child. “I thought, why not adopt a baby girl? Those four girls are gone now.”
From a young age, adoption held a special place in her heart. “I’ve wanted to adopt since I was little. My husband, Daniel Weber, shared that desire. One day, after donating items, we visited St. Catherine’s and met many wonderful children.”
Sunny also shared that she has been open with her daughter Nisha about her adoption. “Nisha is aware that she is adopted, and she is completely fine with it.”
Farah Khan empathized with Sunny, sharing her own experiences of IVF failures before eventually welcoming triplets.
For those unfamiliar, Sunny Leone is a dedicated mother of three, including her daughter Nisha Kaur Weber and twin sons Asher Singh Weber and Noah Singh Weber. Sunny and Daniel adopted Nisha in 2017 when she was just over a year old, and in 2018, they welcomed their twin boys through surrogacy.
Professionally, Sunny is currently featured in Anurag Kashyap's film Kennedy and is also hosting the reality show Splitsvilla, marking her tenth year in this role.
