Los Angeles, Sep 22 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Tom Holland has encountered a mild concussion during the shooting of his latest superhero movie, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”.
The talented star will pause filming as a safety measure and is expected to return in a few days, according to reports from variety.com.
Fortunately, no other individuals were hurt during the incident. Sony, the film's producer in collaboration with Marvel Studios, will convene on Monday to devise a strategy moving forward. Production for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” commenced in Glasgow in early August, with a theatrical release slated for July 31 of next year.
Last month, Sony shared a video showcasing Holland in his new Spider-Man suit, marking his return to the role since 2021's “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.
“It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on ‘Spider-Man.’ It’s amusing, putting on the suit; it feels different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we’ve had fans on set for day one, which is extremely exciting,” Holland mentioned in the video, according to variety.com.
“We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’ll do my best and hopefully get it right, no pressure.”
Some returning familiar faces include Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, alongside new additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as Liza Colon-Zayas from “The Bear”, Tramell Tillman, an Emmy winner from “Severance”, and breakout star Sadie Sink from “Stranger Things”. Also returning are Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando as the Scorpion.
Earlier this month, Holland shared insights on why he receives a new Spider-Man suit 'every two weeks.'
In an interview with Esquire, Holland explained that he imagines he gets a new suit approximately every fortnight.
“Yeah, it definitely does. I probably receive a new suit every two weeks, I reckon,” Holland stated, having started filming for his fourth installment in the superhero franchise, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in August.
Holland embarked on his acting journey at nine years old when he joined a dance class. A choreographer recognized his talent and arranged for him to audition for a role in Billy Elliot the Musical at London's Victoria Palace Theatre.
After two years of training, he landed a supporting role in 2008, eventually stepping into the title role until 2010. Holland made his film debut in the disaster drama The Impossible in 2012, portraying a teenage tourist caught in a tsunami.
Holland later decided to pursue acting full-time, featuring in How I Live Now and playing historical figures in In the Heart of the Sea and the TV miniseries Wolf Hall.
