Hyderabad, Dec 20 (NationPress) - Two weeks after initially cautioning the public about an Instagram account impersonating its producer, a prominent Telugu production house has now revealed that a person is deceitfully using the identity of its producer to mislead individuals.

In a recent post on its X timeline, the acclaimed production house Mythri Movie Makers stated, "We have been informed that someone is misusing the name of our producer, Mr. Naveen Yerneni Garu, to contact others under pretenses. This individual is utilizing the phone number +91 7543869902 and an Instagram account to pose as Mr. Naveen Garu."

The production house urged, "We ask everyone to report this number and the Instagram account. Remember, all official communications will originate from our account @MythriOfficial."

Earlier this month, the production house had also issued a similar alert.

On its official X handle, Mythri Movie Makers warned the public about fraudulent casting agents and agencies, stating, "All casting calls from Mythri Movie Makers will be announced solely through our official account @MythriOfficial. We advise everyone not to engage with anyone claiming to be casting for our films."

Moreover, the production house added, "We have discovered an Instagram account impersonating Mr. Naveen Yerneni Garu. Please note that this account is fake. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any misleading profiles."

Mythri is not the only production house contending with impersonators and fraudulent casting agents.

In November, Kamal Haasan's production company, Raaj Kamal Films International, issued a statement clarifying that it had not engaged any casting agents for its films.

The production house released a notice stating, "This is to clarify that Raaj Kamal Films International has not employed any casting agents for our films. Please disregard any emails, messages, or social media posts you may receive regarding this. Legal action will be pursued against anyone found misusing the name of Raaj Kamal Films International in an unauthorized manner."

Several other leading production houses have faced similar challenges this year.

In August, Neelam Productions, helmed by renowned director and producer Pa Ranjith, cautioned actors about fake casting calls, advising them not to trust such communications.

On its X handle, Neelam Productions provided a warning, stating, "Beware of FAKE AUDITION CALLS using the name of Neelam Productions. Please verify casting calls and audition notices only from our official social media accounts. Thank you!"

The production house also shared a poster emphasizing, "FAKE AUDITION ALERT! Neelam Productions. We have noticed that numerous audition calls and posters are being circulated in our name. We affirm that these AUDITION CALLS ARE NOT AUTHENTIC AND SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED. All audition/casting-related announcements will be made through our official handles listed below. Any casting calls or announcements made through outside sources are fraudulent. Thank you! Instagram - @neelam_productions Twitter - @officialneelam"

Numerous actors and production companies have consistently encountered this issue of fake casting calls being issued in their names.

Previously, Tamil actor Sibi Sathyaraj, also the son of acclaimed actor Sathyaraj, known for his role as Kattappa in the blockbuster ‘Baahubali’, alerted the public about a counterfeit casting call circulated in his name on social media. The actor clarified that he had no association with the individual who posted it or the project mentioned.

The fraudulent casting call poster that Sibi Sathyaraj warned about suggested that the film unit directed by Sakthi Saravanan was seeking actors of both genders aged 25 to 50 years and child artists aged 10 to 15 years to send their profiles to a specific number.

In February, Wunderbar Films Director Sreyas warned the public about con artists issuing fake casting calls, asserting that any casting calls made in his name or that of his production house, Wunderbar Films, were "completely false and baseless".

In a brief statement on his X account, Sreyas, who heads Wunderbar Films, a company owned by actor Dhanush, stated, "Hello, this is to inform everyone that any casting calls under my name or Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd are entirely false. +91 7598756841 is not my number and is being misused with my image."

Previously, Prince Pictures, another esteemed production house, had issued a warning to actors regarding fraudsters claiming to offer acting roles in their forthcoming film Sardar 2 in exchange for money or other favors.
