Chennai, Sep 21 (NationPress) The team behind director Sooriyaprathap's sci-fi crime thriller, ‘ROOT – Running Out of Time’, starring Gautham Ram Karthik in the lead role, has officially announced the completion of the film's second shooting schedule.

In a recent post on their social media pages, the production company Verus Productions expressed their enthusiasm, stating, "We at @verusproduction are thrilled to announce that the second schedule of our sci-fi crime thriller #Root has been successfully completed! This journey is becoming more exhilarating each day, and we eagerly anticipate presenting it to you all soon. Written & Directed By @sooriyaprathap. It’s worth noting that shortly after the first schedule, actor Gautham Karthik had to be hospitalized for about 10 days due to Dengue. Nevertheless, the team has managed to finish the second schedule without significant delays.

This film will showcase Gautham Ram Karthik in a compelling role and will also mark the Tamil cinema debut of Aparshakti Khurana, who is well-known for his remarkable performances in Hindi films.

Actress Bhavya Trikha is set to play the female lead, while veteran actor Y Gee Mahendran will take on a significant role in the movie.

Produced by Dhanishtan Fernando, Rajarajan Gananasambandam, Sanjai Shankar, and Shaik Mujeeb under the banner of Verus Productions, the film is expected to deliver a gripping, edge-of-the-seat thriller experience.

For those unfamiliar, director Sooriyaprathap S is renowned for his creative direction in Naalaiya Iyakkunar – Season 1 and his role as an associate director in 'Kochadaiiyaan', which starred the legendary Rajinikanth.

Speaking about the film in a previous interview, Sooriyaprathap S described, “This project has been a labor of love since the scripting stage. The concept behind ROOT is to create a captivating crime thriller set against a sci-fi backdrop, featuring grounded, emotionally engaging characters.”

On Gautham Ram Karthik, the director remarked, "Gautham brings a potent presence and depth to the character of a police officer. His dedication to his craft and his fearless approach to complex roles make him the ideal anchor for this narrative."

The film’s cinematography is handled by Arjun Raja, while the music is composed by Vithushanan, and action choreography is by Miracle Michael. Sources indicate that ROOT – Running Out of Time is on course to offer a groundbreaking cinematic experience that pushes the limits of Tamil genre filmmaking.
