Actor and content creator Vanshaj Singh, who recently appeared on the reality show Alliance, has spoken candidly about his relentless competitive drive, his five-year grind from Dehradun to Mumbai, and why finishing outside the winner's circle has left him with zero guilt — only a hunger for more.

The Competitive Mindset

'I don't like to lose,' Singh said. 'I feel that if I have gone into something and if I am a part of it, I have to put in all my effort to win. Alliance was also a show where I knew that I deserved to become a finalist. I can perform very well, I have contributed a lot, but things didn't go according to me.'

He acknowledged that the outcome was ultimately outside his control, but was emphatic about one thing: 'I don't have any guilt that I lost.'

Why Even Winning Wouldn't Have Been Enough

For Singh, the loss on Alliance — his fifth captive reality show — barely registers as a setback in the larger arc he has mapped for himself. 'I know that this is not a big achievement for me. I still want to move ahead. I still don't feel content. I am not satisfied at all,' he said. 'I feel that even if I had won Alliance, I wouldn't have been content. I wouldn't have been able to celebrate all the milestones and achievements in my life.'

He credits an unrelenting habit of dreaming — waking and sleeping — as the engine behind his ambition. 'I just dream all day. There is only one thing about me: I dream during the day and also when I sleep. For me, dreaming is the most important thing. That's what keeps me busy,' he added.

The Journey from Dehradun to Mumbai

Singh's path to the entertainment industry was built without industry connections or a pre-existing network. 'I come from Dehradun. When I came to Mumbai four years ago, it was very difficult to make my place. It was extremely difficult. There were no contacts. You don't know anyone in the industry,' he recalled.

He described a methodical, step-by-step climb: growing a social media following, partnering with brands, earning recognition from established names, and eventually landing a string of shows. 'I have done so many small things like this. Alliance was my fifth captive show,' he noted, pointing to a body of work that largely flew under the public radar.

His Message to Aspiring Creators

Singh was candid about the invisible labour that underpins visible success. 'People don't know that I have done a lot of work. Whatever I used to get, I used to work,' he said. His message to those watching from smaller cities was direct: 'If I can do it, then you can do it too. It is difficult. It is very difficult to make your place. But if you keep working and keep dreaming, you will get everything.'

With Alliance now behind him, Singh shows no signs of slowing down — his sights, by his own admission, are already fixed firmly on whatever comes next.
