Mumbai, Sep 24 (NationPress) As Vicky Kaushal's film “Sam Bahadur” received the accolade for Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social and Environmental Values at the prestigious 71st National Film Awards, the Bollywood star, who portrayed the lead role, is overflowing with joy.

Vicky shared his excitement on Instagram stories, posting a video of Meghna Gulzar accepting the award at the ceremony held in the National Capital on September 23.

He captioned the moment with three heart emojis and the words: “#sambahadur at National Awards.”

Sam Bahadur is a biographical war drama centered around the life of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.

On the same day, Vicky and his wife Katrina Kaif joyfully announced their journey into parenthood.

In a heartwarming post on Instagram, the couple shared a polaroid image of themselves tenderly cradling Katrina’s growing baby bump.

“On our way to start the best chapter of our lives with hearts full of joy and gratitude,” they wrote in the caption.

The couple wed in an intimate ceremony at the Six Senses Fort Barwara Hotel in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, in 2021. Rumors about Katrina’s pregnancy have circulated recently, yet the couple has remained discreet.

During an award ceremony, Vicky famously proposed to Katrina on stage in a scripted moment that made her blush. Their connection deepened at a party hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.

On the professional side, Vicky's latest release is the blockbuster “Chhaava”. This epic historical action film is based on Sambhaji, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. The film is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. The cast also features Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna.
