Mumbai, Nov 29 (NationPress) As Gustaakh Ishq made its much-anticipated debut in theaters on November 28, actor Vijay Varma was pleasantly surprised by a remarkable gift from the esteemed writer Gulzar.
Vijay received several books from the celebrated poet and screenwriter, including Raat Pashmine Ki, Raavi Paar, and Mirza Ghalib, all personally signed by the legend.
In a heartfelt post on social media, Vijay shared images of the books and their autographs, expressing that the thoughtful gesture left him in a state of disbelief, taking him days to share it with anyone.
The 'Darlings' star penned on the photo-sharing platform, 'I received these beautiful autographs and words of encouragement from Gulzar Saab and I don’t know how to accept it. It’s surreal... It took me days to even share it with anyone, let alone on social media (sic).'
'Life feels good... Zindagi Gulzar hai. Gustaakh Ishq dekhiye nazdiki cinema ghar mein (❤️),' he added.
Poetry plays a vital role in Gustaakh Ishq, which tells the story of a young man journeying from Delhi to a quaint town in Punjab to learn from an aging poet.
On Thursday, Vijay also shared a touching 'gustaakhi' he took with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah on the set of “Gustaakh Ishq.”
He recounted how he transformed his role model into his muse by sketching Naseeruddin Shah during breaks in filming.
Highlighting his biggest achievement, Vijay noted that these sketches were graciously signed by the veteran actor in Urdu.
“When you do the gustaakhi to turn your role-model into your model as well. Blessed to be working with the legend @naseeruddin49 Saab and learning from him. My most cherished onscreen relationship yet; I made a sketch of him between takes (slide3) and he signed it in Urdu. Show me a bigger flex! Gustaakh Ishq releases tomorrow. Dekhiye zarur,” his note concluded.
