Chennai, Dec 8 (NationPress) The iconic Superstar Rajinikanth has revealed that he is currently in discussions about a storyline for a sequel to his hit film 'Padayappa'. He mentioned that if the project turns out well, it could provide fans with a celebration akin to a festive occasion.

In a video titled 'The Return of Padayappa', released in anticipation of the film's re-release, Rajinikanth shared intriguing insights about the original film, which is set to be re-released on December 12, coinciding with his 75th birthday.

During the video, the Superstar mentioned, "In my five decades in the film industry, the first time women broke down theatre doors to see a film was for 'Padayappa'. Recently, films like '2.0' and 'Jailer 2' inspired me to consider a sequel. Neelambari (played by Ramya Krishnan) expressed in the first part that she would seek revenge in her next life. Thus, we are considering the title 'Neelambari - Padayappa 2'. We are currently discussing the story, and if it resonates well, it will be a celebration for fans similar to what they experience during festivals.

Rajinikanth also stated that he was the true producer of the film and the visionary behind its story and title. He recounted, "When we were brainstorming for a title, I spontaneously suggested 'Padayappa'. Director K S Ravikumar was initially surprised, stating he hadn’t heard it before. I felt it had a captivating sound, and he ultimately agreed to the title."
