Los Angeles, April 8 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Will Smith is feeling festive as he commemorates the 30th anniversary of his iconic film ‘Bad Boys’. The ‘Men in Black’ star, aged 56, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram with his co-star Martin Lawrence and the official account of the franchise, celebrating three decades since the action film's debut, according to People magazine.

“30 years ago @jerrybruckheimer, Don Simpson and @michaelbay took a chance on us and Bad Boys was born!! I’m grateful for all the love you’ve shown us throughout the years,” the caption on Instagram expressed.

According to People, Smith showcased numerous behind-the-scenes images from the original film, featuring moments with Lawrence, 59, as they shared smiles on set.

He also shared photographs of the film’s director, Michael Bay, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Alongside images of his co-star, Smith included glimpses of behind-the-scenes moments with cast members Michael Imperioli, Joe Pantoliano, Téa Leoni, and Theresa Randle.

In the franchise, Smith and Lawrence portray Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Bennett. Following the success of the 1995 film, three additional sequels were produced: ‘Bad Boys II’ in 2003, ‘Bad Boys for Life’ in 2020, and the upcoming ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ in 2024.

The franchise has grossed an impressive $1.2 billion at the box office across all four films, as reported by Collider. Last year, Smith shared insights into the filming of the first installment and the audition process.

“I was 25 years old. Marty Mar was 29. Just two kids who got lucky and lived their dreams right away,” he noted in a June 2024 Instagram post, mentioning how Lawrence's sister encouraged her brother to invite Smith to audition for the role of Mike.

“I was hooked. ‘Let’s go! When can I read the script?’ Marty Mar’s expression changed. ‘Nah, big Willie, the script isn’t ready yet. You just need to trust me and commit’,” he added.
