On Wednesday, Zanai shared a nostalgic video on her Instagram Stories, showcasing a joyful moment with Asha during a procession from their balcony. In this precious clip, Zanai lovingly kissed her grandmother on the forehead, capturing a truly heartwarming scene.
She captioned the video, “She would want us to celebrate just the way she celebrated life.”
Asha Bhosle, a monumental figure in music, recorded her first song for the 1943 Marathi play Majha Bal. Renowned for her remarkable contributions, she lent her voice to unforgettable tracks such as Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani, Kya Ghazab Karte Ho Ji, O Haseena Zulfonwale Jane Jahan, and Ye Ladka Hay Allah Kaisa Hai Diwana. Over her illustrious career, Asha sang in approximately 20 languages, both Indian and international.
Asha Bhosle sadly passed away on April 12, after being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital the previous Saturday. She was honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
Her life was celebrated with a guard of honour at her home in Lower Parel, Mumbai, before her remains were transported to Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar. Draped in the tricolor, she was cremated with full state honors.
Many prominent figures attended the last rites, including Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Tabu, alongside music composer Anu Malik and singers Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosale, and Shaan. Political dignitaries such as Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Uddhav Thackeray also paid their respects.
