Jakarta, May 31 (NationPress) BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, who is part of the All-Party Parliamentary delegation engaged in Operation Sindoor outreach, inaugurated the 'Biju Hall' at the Indian Embassy in Jakarta on Saturday. She also unveiled a commemorative plaque honoring the late Odiya leader Biju Patnaik, who significantly contributed to Indonesia's independence movement.

Patnaik was honored with Indonesia's top civilian award, 'Bintang Jasa Utama', and received honorary citizenship, 'Bumi Putra', for his pivotal role in the country's quest for independence.

During her visit, Sarangi, the MP for Bhubaneswar, engaged with members of the Odiya Samaj, fostering connections and dialogue.

The BJP MP is part of a delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, currently in Indonesia to articulate India’s anti-terrorism stance.

On the previous day, Indian parliamentarians met with members of the Golkar and Nasdem parties in Indonesia, discussing the aftermath of the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Both parties condemned the attack, expressing their deep sympathy for the victims and their families.

The delegation had dynamic interactions with the media at the Indian Embassy in Jakarta, discussing India's 'new normal' strategy against cross-border terrorism, emphasizing zero tolerance for such acts, and showcasing a united front on national interests.

Numerous journalists from leading global media organizations participated in the media session.

This was succeeded by engaging conversations with influential business and community leaders from the Indian diaspora associations at the Indian Embassy.

A moment of silence was held to honor the victims of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Speaking at the event, Sanjay Kumar Jha, the delegation leader, underscored India’s unwavering commitment to fighting terrorism and fostering peace and development. The delegation praised the Indian diaspora for their dedication to values like tolerance and unity, urging them to remain steadfast against terrorism.

The delegation previously visited the Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School in Jakarta, paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue and planting tree saplings in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam' initiative.

They also met with members of the Gandhi Seva Loka Association, championing the principles of truth, justice, and courageous action in facing national challenges, reflecting Mahatma Gandhi's teachings.

Additionally, they conferred with KH Ulil Abshar Abdalla, Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board, and Kholili Kholil, a committee member, seeking their support in combating violence and religious extremism.

Condemning the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident that claimed 26 innocent lives, KH Ulil expressed solidarity with India and called for collaborative efforts between India and Indonesia to promote peace and economic growth.

As nations with the largest Muslim populations that espouse shared values of Unity in Diversity or 'Binneka Tunggal Ika', the delegation leader urged NU leaders to support India and denounce cross-border terrorism, sending a strong message globally.

Having concluded their engagements in Singapore, South Korea, and Japan, the delegation is now in Indonesia to underscore the importance of Operation Sindoor and India's ongoing battle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
