Thimphu, July 1 (NationPress) Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi engaged in productive discussions with Lieutenant General Batoo Tshering, Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Royal Bhutan Army, on Tuesday, aimed at fortifying military ties and enhancing strategic defence collaboration between India and Bhutan.
The Indian Army Chief's arrival in Bhutan on Monday marked the beginning of a four-day official visit, focusing on further solidifying the enduring defence partnership between the two nations. He received a warm welcome at the airport from Major General Dorji Rinchen, Deputy COO of the Royal Bhutan Army.
On Tuesday, General Dwivedi paid his respects by laying a wreath at the National Memorial Chorten in honor of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the third Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan, and reviewed a stunning Guard of Honour at Tashichho Dzong, a significant Buddhist monastery in the capital.
