Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, 29 June attended the National Day celebrations of Seychelles in Victoria as the Guest of Honour, marking the nation's Golden Jubilee of Independence and reaffirming India's enduring commitment to the island archipelago's development journey. The visit, part of a State visit to the Indian Ocean nation, underscored the deepening bilateral ties between the two countries.

Posting on X after the event, Prime Minister Modi said: 'Honoured to participate in the National Day celebrations of Seychelles, marking the Golden Jubilee of the nation's Independence. The celebrations featured a striking display as Seychelles soldiers parachuted into the venue from aircraft bearing the national flag, drawing enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. On the same day, President Patrick Herminie — at whose invitation Modi arrived in Seychelles on Saturday — conferred upon the Prime Minister the 'Guardian of the Blue Horizon', Seychelles' highest distinction, recognising his leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development.
