Accra, July 3 (NationPress) During a joint press briefing with President John Dramani Mahama, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated India's commitment to offering affordable healthcare and reliable care to the people of Ghana through Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
The discussions between the two leaders also touched upon collaboration in vaccine production.
"Through the Jan Aushadhi Kendra, India aims to deliver affordable healthcare and reliable care for the citizens of Ghana. We explored ways to work together on vaccine production," the Prime Minister's Office stated via a social media post on X.
"The meeting with President John Dramani Mahama proved to be very productive. Our relationship has now been elevated to a Comprehensive Partnership, promising benefits for both our countries. We examined avenues for enhancing trade and economic ties, as well as cooperation in FinTech, skill development, healthcare, and other sectors," PM Modi shared on X.
"India and Ghana recognize the significant potential for collaboration in critical minerals, defense, maritime security, and energy. We also discussed enhancing our cultural connections," PM Modi noted in another update on X.
"We are thankful to Ghana for its support in our fight against terrorism. In this regard, we have agreed to bolster our mutual cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. Our views on UN reforms are aligned," said the Prime Minister’s Office on X.
"India takes pride in the African Union's permanent membership in the G20 during our presidency: PM @narendramodi," PMO stated on X.
"In defense and security, we will proceed with the motto of ‘Security through Solidarity’. Cooperation will be expanded in training of armed forces, maritime security, defense supplies, and cyber security: PM @narendramodi," PMO highlighted.
"We have opted to double the ITEC and ICCR scholarships for Ghana. Additionally, efforts will be made to establish a Skill Development Centre focused on vocational education. In agriculture, we look forward to collaborating on President Mahama’s ‘Feed Ghana’ initiative: PM @narendramodi," PMO mentioned.
"Today, President Mahama and I agreed to transform our bilateral relationship into a Comprehensive Partnership. In Ghana's journey of nation-building, India will be a supportive partner: PM @narendramodi," PMO added.
