Jerusalem/Beirut, April 7 (NationPress) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that it has successfully targeted a Hamas operative masquerading as a journalist in Gaza and has also eliminated a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon.
The IDF stated that the military, alongside the internal security service Shin Bet, took action against the Hamas 'terrorist' Hassan Abdel Fattah Mohammed Aslih in the Khan Younis region of southern Gaza, who operated under the pretext of being a journalist and owned a media company.
As per the IDF's announcement, Aslih, affiliated with the Khan Younis Brigade of Hamas, was involved in the events of October 7, 2023, when he recorded and disseminated footage of looting, arson, and murder on social media.
Earlier reports from the official Palestinian news agency WAFA indicated that Israeli airstrikes targeted a media tent near Nasser Medical Complex Hospital in Khan Younis, resulting in the deaths of two journalists and injuries to Aslih along with eight others.
In a separate report, the IDF confirmed the death of Mohammed Adnan Mansour, the artillery chief of Hezbollah, during an airstrike in the Taybeh area of southern Lebanon on Monday.
The IDF noted that Mohammed was responsible for directing numerous projectile attacks towards the Upper Galilee region in northern Israel, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
The Public Health Emergency Operations Centre in Lebanon, associated with the Ministry of Public Health, stated that one individual was killed on Monday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a motorcycle in the heart of the village of Taybeh, offering no additional details regarding this incident.
Since November 27, 2024, a ceasefire agreement has been in place between Hezbollah and Israel, effectively ending over a year of conflict ignited by the war in Gaza.
Nonetheless, the Israeli military continues to conduct strikes in Lebanon, asserting that these operations are aimed at neutralizing Hezbollah 'threats'.
