Quetta, Oct 31 (NationPress) In a shocking development, two Baloch minors were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, amidst a rising tide of enforced disappearances across the province, as reported by a prominent human rights organization.
This alarming incident occurs in the context of ongoing persecution characterized by an increase in enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and torture targeting Baloch civilians.
According to the Baloch National Movement's Human Rights Department (Paank), on Thursday, Pakistani forces executed a raid in the Pullabad area of Kech district, forcibly taking two boys — Farooq, the son of Syed Mohammad, and Abdullah, the son of Rashid — from their residence. Both boys are under the age of 15.
Paank condemned this “inhumane act”, labeling it as yet another instance of Pakistan’s systematic approach to enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
“The abduction of children not only breaches all moral and legal standards but also highlights the extent of militarization and impunity in the region,” stated the rights organization.
They have called for the swift and safe return of Farooq and Abdullah, urging international human rights organizations and the United Nations to take immediate action regarding the ongoing enforced disappearances of Baloch civilians, including minors, at the hands of Pakistani security forces.
In a related incident, numerous human rights organizations condemned the brutal torture and sexual assault of two women by Pakistani forces in Panjgur district, Balochistan.
The Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) expressed grave concern, stating that the victims—a mother and her daughter—were reportedly apprehended by Pakistani security forces in Panjgur, subjected to severe torture, and later abandoned in critical condition at a local hospital. The daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted during her detention.
“This horrific incident is not an isolated case but reflects a broader and disturbing trend of violence, sexual abuse, and enforced disappearances of women throughout Balochistan. Recently, several similar cases have emerged, including the abduction of Safia Bibi during a military operation in Zehri and the enforced disappearance of 23-year-old student Mahjabeen Baloch on May 29, who remains missing,” the BVJ reported.
The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) condemned the appalling incident, stating, “The sheer brutality of this act is incomprehensible—targeting women through abduction, torture, and sexual violence exposes the moral decay and impunity that characterize state operations in Balochistan.”
This systematic violence against Baloch women, the HRCB emphasized, is not only a severe human rights violation but also a deliberate effort to silence and intimidate entire communities.
The HRCB has called for an urgent and independent investigation, accountability for the perpetrators, and justice for the victims.
