New Delhi, Nov 25 (NationPress) As we approach the 75th Constitution Day celebrations on Wednesday, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has put the final touches on the arrangements for the commemorative events taking place at the legislature’s premises, according to an official announcement made on Tuesday.
The Speaker emphasized that Constitution Day serves as a vital reminder of the nation’s democratic principles and instructed all departments to guarantee seamless coordination for a respectful and smooth event.
A significant feature of the celebration will be the launch of a specially curated Coffee Table Book by Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan, commemorating 100 years since Vithalbhai Patel was elected as the first Indian Speaker of the Central Legislative Assembly on August 24, 1925.
This book includes rare archival images, critical documents, and notable excerpts from his speeches and writings, alongside highlights from the All India Speakers' Conference and messages from various dignitaries.
With curated archival content on the development of India’s legislative institutions and visuals depicting the contemporary Parliament, the book stands as a succinct yet profound homage to Vithalbhai Patel's lasting legacy and India’s democratic evolution.
In a video message, Speaker Gupta stated, “The Constitution of India defines our nation as a sovereign, secular, and democratic republic. As the country celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, the Delhi Legislative Assembly will host the ‘Constitution Day Celebration’.”
He further noted that on this historic occasion, the unveiling of the unique work entitled “Shatabdi Yatra” coffee table book, dedicated to India's legislative history and crafted by the Delhi Legislative Assembly with contributions from the heroic Veer Vithalbhai Patel, will take place under the aegis of the Vice-President.
Previously, the Speaker engaged in discussions with senior officials from the Delhi Police, the Public Works Department, the Horticulture Department, and representatives from the Assembly Secretariat.
He assured that the Delhi Assembly is fully prepared to host a remarkable and well-organized celebration.
The event will also see the attendance of Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Other notable attendees include Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, Delhi Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, and Chief Secretary Rajeev Verma, with the program being presided over by Speaker Vijender Gupta.
As part of the national commemoration, a three-minute short film created by the Union government for the 75th Constitution Day will also be shown.
